Todays plans were changed and I was a bit disappointed as the plans listed on the daily schedule were to head to Gardens by the Bay. Though it wasn't a complete waste as the area we headed to, Tiong Bahru, had alot of interesting aspects that could be ideas for our projects.
We even were given a tour guide by a designer of the area and a colleagues of one of the tutors. He ran his own little studio, which created some really interesting products and stationary such as lighters or pens. They even designed there own headphone product, which was pretty awesome.
These were some designs they did on lighters for BIC stationary brand.
Their own headphone brand.
Production sketches for pens and earphones.
Pen designs for BIC stationary.
We were also given some free time to wonder the area and we even visited a pretty interesting bookstore but I was more keen on looking for things to use as ideas for the assignment.
Front of bookstore
Shop next door to book store. They sold stationary and home stuff...
These were cute illustration tutorial books but cost like $30 SGD each.
These were interesting collectables sitting on one of the bookshelves in the book store.
We all caught cabs back to the hotel once it was lunch break.
In the afternoon, the class headed to a studio to start on work. I'm unsure of what actually took place as I was feeling unwell and stayed back at the hotel.
